Wanted! Storyteller In Residence

At the Cape Breton Regional Library, we understand and appreciate the importance of stories to the Island community and to residents of all generations. In recognition of this rich oral tradition, the Cape Breton Regional Library Board has established a Storyteller-in-Residence program.

The term for the Storyteller-in-Residence shall be two years. The Storyteller-in-Residence will receive an honorarium for events plus approved mileage. A Storyteller-in-Residence Committee will be responsible for reviewing the applications, interviewing and recommending the candidate. Apply now to share your stories and craft and be the first ever Cape Breton Regional Library Storyteller-in-Residence.

Friday, April 8th

“Sit by my side, come as close as the air…
Share in my memories of grey…
Wander in my world, dream about the pictures
That I play of

CHANGES…”

And there are lots of changes at What The Folk!
Tonight’s theme reflects them.
We’ve moved downstairs into the brand new performance space.
There’s a proper stage, matching tables and chairs… a real coffee house!
Phil Ochs would be proud of our changes.

“Movements of magic will glow in the night…
One last cup of wine I will pour…
I’ll kiss you one more time & leave you on the rolling
River shore of

CHANGES…”
