WTF! Gets Mooned!

Hi everyone,

I hope that you all had a glorious lazy summer and are now rested and ready to get back to our Friday frolics at Chebucto Coffee. Our first session of this new season will begin on Friday, September 27th to correspond with the first day of Culture Days. Over the weekend, The Helen Creighton Folklore Society will be offering the following presentations at the Alderney Gate Branch of the HRM Regional Library.

Saturday, September 28, 2:30pm - Folk Music of the Maritimes
Kate Dunlay and Margo Carruthers will examine the Creighton collection and others through examples of traditional music styles and folksongs.

Sunday, September 29, 2:30pm - Folklore of the Maritimes
Clary Croft will examine the collection of his late mentor - Dr. Helen Creighton - through examples of stories, beliefs and songs.

Monday, September 30, 7:00pm - Folktales & Storysongs of the Maritimes
Cindy Campbell Stone will examine the Creighton collection through examples of stories, storysongs and ballads.

There was a new moon on September 5th which would have been Helen Creighton's 114th Birthday. So... in honour of Culture Days and Canada's First Lady of Folklore's undisputed place in preserving our culture, WTF! invites you to celebrate this New Moon Month and New Season of WTF! by sharing your "New" songs or tales or "Moon" songs or tales.

Be the first on your block to "moon" What the Folk!
