WTF Night

WTF: What the Folk is at the Just Us Cafe on Spring Garden Road in Halifax tonight at 7pm. It is a celebration of the oral traditions: folklore, folksongs, folktales, folkart.
This is the second time for this open mic 'unplugged' event. The first event on January 15th, was a very enjoyable evening with lots of laughter and amazement for the variety of songs, stories and lore shared amongst the performers and the audience. Here is just a small list of some of the entertainment from January 15th.

A song in gaelic by Margo
A NS cultural medley by Rosalee (also played another tune on the dulcimer)
Lore about NS and anecdotes about Helen Creighton by Clary Croft
A Forerunner Tale by Cindy
NS Fiddle Tunes by Kate
A lobster story by Ray
A Sea Chantey by Jay

AND spontaneous sharing of familylore, regional lore, superstitions.

Afterward one person commented: "This was really fun. It's unlike anything I've ever been to."

Next WTF night: Friday, February 12th at 7pm.
This will first theme night: Love, Loss, Longing - something for every Valentines mood.
