A real  “Coast to Coast”  House Concert  - Not just Vancouver to Halifax ☺
Thursday evening Aug 15 at 7:30 pm.  
Pay what you can admission - Suggesting $10. 

Limited to about 20 people, members first. Non-members can be put on waiting list.

Victoria Storyteller and English Professor, Moira Walker, researched and told  the story of Viola  Desmond when Desmond was chosen for the $10 bill. She is looking forward to telling this story in Nova Scotia.

Save the date for this special edition of our Storytellers Circle of Halifax gathering on Monday Sep 16.
This is a two hour presentation (with Break) feathering Ballads of the Sefardic Jews of Spain and the second half about tracing and collecting them. There will be no Open Mic this evening. Regular sessions will return in October.

Admission:  Pay what you can - $15 suggested

Ethnomusicologist, singer, teller - I sing stories and tell songs from many traditions - Sephardic from Morocco, Turkey, Greece and the Balkans; Spanish and Portuguese villages, Francophone Canada, Yiddish, Medieval Europe....  leading the audience through mini-labyrinths of the  stories of the people I learned them from, and my own stories of traveling and singing. I am happy to present in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese, and to adjust programmes to different audiences. I often accompany myself with traditional string and/or percussion instruments.

Celtic Tales and Tea Mar 16 Dartmouth


Come Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Evergreen!
Join us at Evergreen House for a fun afternoon of Celtic tales on Saturday, March 16. We are delighted to host storytellers Elinor Benjamin, Liz Newkirk, and Linda Winham to regale you with wonderful Celtic tales just in time for St. Paddy’s Day. Guests will be treated to cookies, scones, and, of course, piping hot tea.
Helen Creighton collected many Celtic stories and songs around the Maritimes, as well as from many other cultures. Celtic tales and songs are an exciting mix of adventure, heroism, romance, and magic often including Kings, Queens, knights, warriors, rebels, Gods, Goddesses, Druids and the wee folk.
Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Admission to the Museum is included. Tickets are available here or by spaces can be reserved by calling 902-464-2300. As space is limited, booking is advised.
