WTF: It's a Marshmallow World!
Hi gang,
Happy New
Year one and all! And in honour of the first blizzard of the year...
[Everyone Sings]
"It's
a marshmallow world in the winter When the snow comes to cover
the ground. It's the time for play, It's a whipped cream day.
I wait for it the whole year round.
Those are marshmallow clouds
being friendly, In the arms of the evergreen trees, And the sun is red like a pumpkin head.
It's shining so your nose won't freeze.
The world
is your snowball, see how it grows, That's how it goes, whenever it snows. The
world is your snowball just for a song. Get out and roll it along.
It's a yum-yummy world made for sweethearts, Take a walk with your favourite girl. It's a sugar date, what if spring is late, In winter it's a marshmallow world. In winter it's a marshmallow world. In winter... it's a marshmallow world."
Surely
you can see a theme here?
...On Thursday, January 9th... the fabulous folks at the Rose & Kettle Concert Sessions will be back with their annual potluck and play-around-sing-around... inviting you to bring your favourite dish to share, a song or two or just your ears. Always fun! And a great way to start the new year!
... On Friday,
January 10... the ludicrous lunatics at What The Folk! will
be stealing their idea... inviting you to bring your favourite musical dish
to share... a song or story or two about food.
Your New
Year's diet resolutions will be safe with us. No need to fear the calories in BLACK RUM AND BLUEBERRY PIE! There are none. As
forGREEN EGGS AND HAM? They have no
cholesterol, Sam I am. And you can have a HOT
BURRITO #1 or a HOT
BURRITO #2 or as many as you like because they are
completely carb free. And gluten free! And guilt free!!
[Everyone Sings Again]
"In winter it's a marshmallow world. In winter
it's a marshmallow world. In winter... it's a marsh...mallow... world."
Happy shovelling! Xo Margo

WTF! Dan MacKinnon!
Our next WTF! falls on Friday, December 13th so if you are superstitious... you might want to consider sharing a superstition or two; or a song or story about luck, good OR bad.
As for good luck... we are delighted to announce that DAN MCKINNON will be guest hosting the evening. As Dan will be heading off in early January for a two month UK tour, this will be one of your last opportunities to see him, especially as "up close & personal" as we are at Chebucto Coffee :)
I would like to suggest that you bring songs & stories that you feel would contribute to a most memorable send off for Dan. Please don't limit your choices to sweet sentimentality though. Dan would likely prefer to remember us as we really are :)
